- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
- In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugars on medium speed until light and fluffy.
- Add the salt, vanilla, and eggs, and beat until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop dough by the tablespoonful onto lined baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake until cookies are golden brown around the edges but still soft in the center, about 10-12 minutes.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For chewier cookies, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking.
