Slow Cooker Mongolian Beef

A delicious and easy slow cooker recipe for Mongolian beef that delivers bold flavors and tender meat.

  • 2 pounds flank steak
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 green onions (sliced)

Instructions

  1. Slice the flank steak into thin strips.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, water, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Place the beef in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over it.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  5. In the last half hour, mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water and stir into the slow cooker.
  6. Cook for an additional 30 minutes to thicken the sauce.
  7. Serve with sliced green onions on top.

Notes

  • For added flavor, let the beef marinate in the sauce for 1-2 hours before cooking.
  • Serve over rice or noodles for a complete meal.
