Philly Cheese Steak Sloppy Joes

A delicious twist on classic sloppy joes featuring turkey bacon and all the flavors of a Philly cheese steak.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 sandwich rolls
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and crumble.
  2. In the same skillet, add ground turkey, bell pepper, onion, and garlic. Cook until the turkey is browned and the vegetables are soft.
  3. Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Divide the mixture into sandwich rolls and top with provolone cheese.
  5. Broil for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add some chopped mushrooms to the mixture.
  • Serve with pickles on the side for a crunchy contrast.
