  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  3. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and almond extract; beat until light.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients; mix until combined.
  6. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Frost with your favorite icing once completely cool.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try adding lemon zest to the dough.
