Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree, sugar, and eggs until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and spices.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the pumpkin mixture until well combined.
  5. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 15-20 minutes.
  6. While the cake is baking, prepare a clean kitchen towel by dusting it with powdered sugar.
  7. Once the cake is done, immediately invert it onto the towel and roll it up loosely, then cool completely.
  8. For the filling, beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  9. Unroll the cooled cake, spread the filling evenly, and roll it back up tighter this time.
  10. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.
