  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the sour cream and vanilla.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Pour half of the batter into a greased cake pan, sprinkle half of the brown sugar mixture, and then add the remaining batter followed by the rest of the brown sugar mixture on top.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Let cool before serving.

  • For added flavor, consider adding nuts to the brown sugar mixture.
