  • 24 ladyfingers
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup chocolate shavings (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until thick and pale.
  2. Fold in mascarpone cheese until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks and gently fold into the mascarpone mixture.
  4. Combine espresso and coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.
  5. Dip ladyfingers quickly in the espresso mixture and layer them in a dish.
  6. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  7. Repeat layering with remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.
  8. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  9. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings.
